Digg This!
Great news today .. Sybase's subsidiary in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada - iAnywhere Solutions has announced the release of the new SQL Anywhere database version 10 into production! Sybase has decided to rename the ASA (Adaptive Server Anywhere) database back to its original name SQL Anywhere (of course for us really "seasoned" IT people we still know this DBMS as Watcom SQL SQL Anywhere version 10 is targeted to ship with PocketBuilder 3.0, PowerBuilder 10.5.1 and 11. But in the meantime, it works perfectly with PB 9.x or 10.x releases .. or even VisualStudio 2003/2005 (which it detects and inserts a plug-in for if found at installation)! The "developers" version of SQL Anywhere 10 is now officially available for download. To obtain the developer edition, just visit www.ianywhere.com or www.sqlanywhere.com and click on the big SQL Anywhere 10 graphic (you can't miss it!). Versions exist for Windows x86, x64, CE, and Linux x86, x64. Regards ... Chris PS: SQL Anywhere currently has around 70% of the small, medium and mobile database market worldwide. Also, do not forget to drop by the next Ottawa Sybase User Group meeting on Oct 11th to hear Mr. Dave Shiposh from iAnywhere explain some of the key 200 new features of this release!
