Sybase iAnywhere has announced its new initiative to deliver SQL Anywhere for the web developer community. In addition to a number of web development features found in SQL Anywhere Version 11, its newest release, the company has also unveiled a new Web Edition that allows developers free SQL Anywhere Server database deployment.
The SQL Anywhere Web Edition includes the same out-of-box performance of SQL Anywhere. There are no restrictions on database size, cache size, CPUs, optimization techniques, execution strategies or SQL language support.
Key Benefits of the SQL Anywhere Web Edition, include:
- A free, proven, secure, robust database solution for enhanced development and deployment of web applications;
- Support for industry leading Web development languages and development platforms, such as Ajax, Java, ASP.NET, PHP, Perl, Adobe Flex and Microsoft Silverlight;
- A lightweight, built-in web server that supports PHP scripts and direct access to data through web services including SOAP, XML, and JSON.
