Lumesse, a global leader in integrated talent management solutions, today announced the appointment of Thomas Volk as its CEO.
Volk is a highly successful enterprise technology executive with a considerable track record. He started his career with HP in Germany and the UK before moving to the U.S., where he spent over five years in a variety of global sales and marketing roles. In 2002, Volk joined Sybase as EVP for its product group and later led Sybase’s International business. Upon returning to Europe in 2006, Volk took the role of CEO of IDS Scheer, a 3,000-person company focused on business process management software and SAP services solutions.
More recently Volk has been leading Dell’s commercial business in UK, France and Germany and has been involved with a number of earlier stage high growth SaaS software companies. He is also chairman of P&I and SNP, two publicly listed software companies in Germany.
Commenting on his appointment Volk said, “The strong market position and high growth that Lumesse holds bode well for the future, and the recent additional investment from Lumesse’s majority investor HgCapital to support further expansion means I am joining the company when it is incredibly well placed to fully exploit its unique position. I am both proud and excited to be joining such a dynamic and successful business operating in a growing global market, and one with so many opportunities.”
Nick Discombe, chairman of Lumesse, noted, “Thomas brings significant international experience at a time when HgCapital’s additional funding gives the company added flexibility as to how it accelerates its growth and product strategy. Thomas has operated at the highest levels in globally successful technology businesses for many years and his strong leadership skills will ensure that Lumesse realizes the significant potential the company has.’’
