Sybase Corporate

Sybase announced that it expected first quarter pro forma operating earnings between 23 cents and 26 cents per share based on sales of $227 million to $231 million, somewhat lower than the 28 cents per share that financial analysts had expected.

Sybase, one of the sponsors of the Computerworld Honors Awards Program, announced that it had selected 23 companies using Sybase technology to participate. The Computerworld Honors Awards (CWHA) program and its "Search for New Heroes" identifies the great minds of today along with their organizations that are leading the revolution in information technology - capturing their contributions through collections of documents and photographic, video, and other appropriate media submissions. Contestants produce in-depth case studies that feature their cutting-edge solutions in information technology, which then become a part of the permanent research collections of the Computerworld Honors Archive & Grant Program. In previous years the research collection was part of the Smithsonian Institution archives. Starting this year, the program is being expanded to reach a truly global audience including 179 institutions in 27 countries. The final awards will be presented during a formal gala on June 4, 2001, in Washington, DC. The companies selected by Sybase for participation were:
